ECLAC: Commerce with China contributed to de-industrialisation of Latin America

China’s high demand of raw materials has contributed to the de-industrialisation in Latin America, warned the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribean (ECLAC). According to Zebulun Kreiter, ECLAC’s Economic Affairs expert, the situation in Bolivia is one of the most acute because 95% of the exports to China are raw material.
