The sugar sector of Santa Cruz managed to grind 8.05 million tons of cane, refine more than 11 million quintals of sugar and distil more than 200 million litres of alcohol. According to the Bolivian Institute of Foreign Commerce (IBCE), up to September of this year, the sugar agro-industries operating in the country exported 84,340,117 gross kilograms for a value of $30.9 million. It represents a growth of 10% in volume and 6% in value, compared to the same period in 2019. In the exports of the group of non-traditional products, the sugar sector reachest participation of 1%.
