Imports of school supplies dropped 43% in 2020

Imports of school supplies shrank by 43% in value and 37% in volume due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, 10 million kilos of school supplies and backpacks worth $28 million were imported, while in 2019, 15 million kilos worth $50 million were purchased, according to the Bolivian Institute of Foreign Trade (IBCE).
