Value of fuel imports fell 43% in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic

The value of fuel imports fell by 43% compared to 2019 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, external purchases reached $844 million, while in 2019 they reached $1.48 billion, representing a 43% drop, according to data from the Bolivian Institute of Foreign Trade (IBCE). Diesel purchases accounted for 81% of fuel imports in 2020.
