Reasonable prices in international markets are beginning to affect Bolivian foreign trade. According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), in February, the country recorded a trade surplus of $236 million. It is a higher balance than the $198 million recorded in 2020 and the highest since 2015. It is the second time this year that the trade balance has been favourable for Bolivia. In January, the surplus was $136 million.
